Sandwiched between two giant countries China in the north and India in the south, Nepal lies between 80°4' and 88° 12' east longitude and 26° 22' and 30° 27' north latitude. Nepal time is 5 hours 45 minutes ahead of GMT. Despite being a tiny country Nepal needs not any specific introduction because the highest mountain in the world crowns it that is Mount Everest. Being a multi-linguistic and multi-ethnic country the people has got the religious tolerance.

The kingdom of Nepal has to offer to the outside world a wide range of the tourism products unmatched to the product of the other countries. Endangered species like one-horned rhino, snow leopard, the pigmy boars and not the least the Royal Bengal tigers are the treasure of country's wild life. Similarly, one can find a variety of flora and fauna found from snowline area to the plain part in the south. Of all these, one cannot resist himself being fascinated with the beauty of the enchanting snow peaks and the beautiful landscape of the country. Thus the major tourism product of Nepal can be said as the mountain tourism that attracts lot of climbers and many trekkers to accept the challenge of nature.

Kathmandu Valley

Prior to the unification of the kingdom of Nepal, Kathmandu valley comprised of three major autonomous cities i.e. Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur ( Patan ) that paced forward shoulder to shoulder in the field of art and culture. The cities have not distracted from their path and one can find the living and preserved culture and art even to this date even after the formation of the kingdom of Nepal.
