Sikkim lost its entity as a soverign country after it came under the control of India on 1975. Perhaps this is the smallest province of India. Sikkim touches the border lines in west with Nepal, in east with Bhutan and to the north it is linked with Tibet Autonomous region of China. Virtually this is a land of Budhism, Lepchas regarded as the aboriginal group, the Bhutias of Tibetan origin and the largest Nepalese ethnic group constitute the population of Sikkim.
